Welcome to Lickey Hills Art Society Website

This year sees our 35th Annual Exhibition and to celebrate we will be holding a month long members only exhibition at the Artrix Arts Centre in Bromsgrove, a popular and well attended local theatre venue.

The society was originally formed on 13th November 1982 with the objective ‘to encourage appreciation of art and art forms for all within the local area and to further this knowledge by means of meetings, lectures, demonstrations, exhibitions and kindred activities’ and is open to anyone to join.

The first meeting of the then Cofton Hackett Art Society was on 8th January 1983, later the meeting place moved to Longbridge Methodist Church and so the name changed to the Lickey Hills Art Society.

The society has always been a popular club and has met on the first Saturday of every month (excluding January) ever since. The programme of demonstrations is delivered by experienced and talented artists and has always been varied covering many styles and mediums. The current membership ranges from those with an interest in art to experienced artists. Although we do not hold organised lessons, beginners will find the more experienced members are always willing to provide tips and support.

As this is our 35th Exhibition for the month of November members paintings will be exhibited in the Artrix Theatre, Bromsgrove. Join us and have the opportunity of exhibiting or come along to see our exhibition and have the chance to purchase a work of art by a local artist.

So, if you have an interest in art why not come along our next meeting:

SATURDAY 2ND JUNE 2018

7.30pm - 9.30pm

admission for visitors £4.00

Frances Rogers                                                                           Birds in Oil

Frances trained in fine art and has had a career in teaching.
Whilst accurately portraying the subject her pictures have an abstract quality
that gives her paintings impact. She will demonstrate the development of
a bird portrait from watercolour studies to the finished oil
painting.

Our meetings are held at the Longbridge Methodist Church, Bristol Road South, Longbridge, B45 9TY
